Say hello to Summit for Windows 8.1 :)

Always create a system restore before attempting to modify your system with any themes or tool! I am not responsible for anything that happens to your computer!

Do not mirror, modify, or redistribute without my consent. Sharing is OK, but you must link directly back to this page.

Dark variation here: Valley

Q: What is summit?
A: Summit is an OS X Yosemite inspired theme for Windows 8.1

Q: How can I download this?
A: Press the download button on the right side of the page

Q: How can I install this theme?
A: Take the content of the zip folder you downloaded and place it in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes. Make sure you patch your computer using UXThemePatcher or UXStyle.

Q: How do I update the theme?
A: First, make a restore point to make sure you can always go back if anything goes wrong. Afterwards, change your theme to another theme such as the default aero theme. Log off and on, then insert the new theme files in the appropriate location (see above). Apply the theme and you're good to go!

Q: This doesn't look exactly like OS X Yosemite!
A: This is my take on Apple's flat style, so does not necessarily match OS X Yosemite 100%

Q: Help! The theme isn't applying and I am getting a grey basic theme!
A: Make sure to patch/override your uxtheme.dll file using UXStyle or UXtheme Ultra patcher.

Q: Will there be a windows 7 version?
A: Possibly, but I currently don't have Windows 7. Please do not ask as I already addressed this.

Q: Will there be an Aero version?
A: I'm not sure as the creator of Aero8 is not the nicest guy in the world.

Q: May I use this theme in my transformation/customization pack? May I make a mirror/redistribute it? Could I modify it for public use?
A: Absolutely no, unless you have permission from me.

It's a shame it's not for Windows 7. Nice looking anyways.

I think this theme isn't compatible with Windows 8, beacuse all it does in Windows 8 is changing the window color to high contrast white...

The theme was designed for Windows 8.1, not 8.

Found this bug whenever I mouse-over on a shortcut which doesn't fit the window (in this case, the white bar in the "This PC" list).

EDIT: Found the same bug in the "Valley" (black) version.

Don't think this bug is possible to fix.

Oke, I've also noticed that the theme gets kinda buggy when updating from W8 to W8.1, but that could just be Windows itself restoring files / updating them. Anyway, running the ThemePatcher and NoRibbon fixed the problems.
Also very annoying: sharing settings in W8 when making multiple VMs. All of a sudden my host had the same theme as my test VM, just because I signed in on the test VM.

I can't do anything with your VM problem. A Visual file is just resources that Windows uses to skin various elements. If you are using a Microsoft Account on your computer, Windows may be syncing your theme across your VM and host under the same Microsoft Account.
